Dominique, these are excellent photos. Thanks for taking them and sharing. My thoughts are it's a British locomotive: the engine lacks a coupler on the front end, and there are no steps to the running boards as many US-built engines featured. Another possible UK hint is the handle on the smokebox door: few US engines had these; most had bolted on doors, some with hinges, etc. Another thought: could this be a German-built engine?

Thank you for the kind comment Jonathan. Indeed I was wondering as well about this locomotive's manufacturer and I came nearly to the same conclusion than yours. Cannot be an US built loco as the front chassis and pilot are definitely not US style. But it doesn't remind me a british built loco neither. In my opinion british locos are more streamlined.. So I also think about a german built locomotive, or maybe japanese..

According to Wikipedia, not the most reliable of sources, number 82 a 4-6-2 was built by Nippon Sharyo, with works number 1610 in either 1953 or 1959 (sources differ). It does look very German with the high slope-fronted running plate, central sand dome, boxy cab and tender. Whether it was built for the Hedjaz Railway or just ended up there isn’t clear. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedjaz_Jordan_Railway
